ABOUT THE  SERIES

This series of works reflects on the identity of the body and the Caribbean architectural space as seen through the fictitious Eurocentric gaze of otherness, behavior and experiences, conveyed through drawings and paintings on paper.

¨I am here but it’s not me¨ questions the relations of belonging and everyday life in the postcolonial insular context, presenting racialized bodies upon which vegetation intervenes, within empty space. These spaces enter in dialogue with the symbolic weight of objects and ways of life that emerge from the fantasies of the ¨Caribbean Paradise¨.
